Alright, alright...so it turns out the post below "Afzal heads to the gallows, finally" has been written without much research into the subject.
Now lets run a background check on Afzal...some valid points Mr. Phaniprasad has highlighted
#1 He was used by the STF as their spy
#2 The supreme court and the POTA court have ruled that he is not affiliated to any terrorist organisation.
#3 He was a former member of the JKLF who voluntarily surrendered to the BSF
#4 STF tortured him and forced him to make a false confession. An STF official even took a bribe from Tabassum (Afzal's wife)
#5 He wasn't allowed a lawyer of his choice
#6 Prosecution witnesses who disposed against him were not at all examined by his lawyer.
#7 The supreme court said: "The incident, which resulted in heavy casualties, had shaken the entire nation," it said, "and the collective conscience of the society will only be satisfied if capital punishment is awarded to the offender."

It also turns out that many of the people involved with the sound understanding of the law, have raised theit voice in regards of the manner Afzal's trial went about. But the Honourable supreme court has passed the guilty verdict against him citing this as a rarest of rare offence committed.
I myself dont hope this is a case similar to one which was told in the SRK movie 'Phir bhi dil hai Hindustani' which showed Paresh Rawal playing a character who was framed as a terrorist by a big political plot."Mai Aatankwaadi nahi hu.....nahi hu mai aatankwaadi" he screams.
The ball now is in Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's court.
